If you’re planning a corporate or B2B event in Atlantic City, here are two hotel venue options I experienced on my visit, while attending IPEC (Independent Planners Education Conference).
Opening Reception at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino embraced a boardwalk theme complete with carnival-like games and activities, including caricature drawings. I would have loved to see a themed photobooth with various props to capture the moment and enhance the branding of the event.

Adding your logo to the flooring is a great way to enhance your event's branding.

The Food Was Fantastic!
We’ve all experienced events where the food missed the mark, but the food at Hard Rock did not disappoint. It was served buffet style. There was a variety of meat, veggie, and vegan options. I tried both the chicken and steak, and found the chicken especially flavorful and moist. The open bar and passed appetizers helped tide us over until the dinner buffet was served.. While not every appetizer was a hit, there was something for everyone. The dessert bar, introduced about an hour after dinner, offered a range of tasty sweets. All food items were clearly labeled to avoid any confusion.
Highlights from the reception included:

Dinner Buffet with Variety
Dessert Bar
I highly recommend this format for a dinner reception. The light cocktail hour kept guests satisfied before dinner, creating a natural, relaxed atmosphere for networking and mingling. The program flowed seamlessly, allowing attendees to connect without feeling rushed.
Overall, the opening reception was executed fabulously. The venue offered plenty of space and was conveniently located on the second floor, away from the noise and distractions of the casino floor. The team from Visit Atlantic City delivered a warm and thoughtful welcome address that was brief and to the point.

These were my favorite!!
Dinner at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa
The second night at IPEC, we had a dinner offsite at the Borgata. We took a shuttle and it was approximately a 15 minute drive. The Borgata is a beautiful and elegant hotel as we walked through the lobby and to the elevator to a meeting space. This served as our location for a light cocktail hour and apps. We were greeted with a welcome drink. What I noticed right way was there was no coat check. And since it was about 40 degrees and I had my bulky winter coat, this was a slight inconvenience. Also, we weren’t sure the on the schedule as it wasn’t communicated that we would be moving to another room for dinner. Some of us got worried that we weren’t having dinner because we didn’t see anything. But, finally we received direction and was told to head down for dinner. We did get to the venue space, it it wasn’t quite ready yet, so we did end up waiting for about 10 minutes outside the venue.
On the second night of IPEC, we enjoyed dinner offsite at the Borgata. A quick 15-minute shuttle ride brought us to this beautiful, elegant hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink and then moved to another space for a light cocktail hour and appetizers.
After a short 15-minute shuttle ride, we arrived to the Borgata. I was immediately struck by the elegance of the hotel. The lobby exuded sophistication, and the welcome drink set the tone for what was to come.
One minor inconvenience was the lack of a coat check, which was challenging in 40-degree weather with bulky winter coats. During the cocktail hour, we enjoyed passed appetizers, an open bar, and a charcuterie board. However, uncertainty about the dinner schedule left some of us feeling a bit anxious. We weren’t sure when or where dinner would take place, which led to some confusion. Once we received an update, we moved to the dinner venue, though there was a brief 10-minute wait while they were finalizing the space for dinner.
To focus more on the guest experience, I would recommend clearly communicating the schedule in advance. Specifically, let attendees know there will be a cocktail hour followed by dinner. Additionally, displaying the dinner start time would help guests stay informed and avoid unnecessary guesswork.

This Space is Gorgeous!
Once inside, the space was truly awe-inspiring. Although the lighting was slightly dimmer than my preference, it added to the room's elegant ambiance. The seating options were diverse, offering a mix of lounge-style areas, high-top tables, and banquet tables seating 4–6 guests.
Entertainment for the evening featured a live band performing modern, upbeat hits, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere. The venue was the hotel's pool area, which was covered for the event, except for a section left open for a synchronized swim performance, a unique and captivating highlight of the evening. I also appreciated how the event host and sponsor logos were elegantly displayed on the wall. The design was sleek and polished, seamlessly integrating branding without overpowering the ambiance.

So Much Food
Dinner was served at multiple stations, offering a bounty of choices that made it hard to try everything. From cuts of meat and fresh salads to pastas and sliders, everything was delicious. The cotton candy station was a hit, and the dessert was a showstopper with a fully loaded sundae bar. It was a beautiful, elegant scene that was very reflective of the Borgata.
