👋 Hi, Tiffany here!
Welcome back to The Velvetstyle Viewpoint—the newsletter where I share my updates, insights, and behind-the-scenes moments from an Event Professional.
The past couple of months have been packed with travel, venue visits, and showing up more regularly in both my work and my content. I’m carrying that same energy into June. Let’s get into the recap! Keep reading...
It doesn’t matter when you start, just start.
What's Inside
May Recap
May kicked off with a trip to Georgia for GMITE (Global Meeting & Incentive Travel Exchange), hosted at Château Élan Winery & Resort. I connected with several high-end travel and incentive suppliers and toured the winery, which I’ll be reviewing in an upcoming post. It was a great opportunity to explore properties that cater to luxury meetings and small-scale incentive groups.
Mid-month, I traveled to Savannah over Mother’s Day weekend. While the trip was primarily personal, I carved out time to tour the Savannah Convention Center and see the progress on its recent expansion. I also visited the newly opened AC Marriott Riverfront. The hotel has a clean, modern design with functional meeting rooms just off the lobby, a rooftop restaurant, and a private dining space that’s perfect for groups of 10 to 12. As someone who’s visited Savannah often, I continue to be impressed by the city’s potential as a destination for both retreats and larger-scale conferences.
I also completed my certification as an Inclusive Event Strategist through MPI. It’s important to me that every event I design is welcoming, thoughtful, and reflective of diverse experiences. This training deepened my approach to inclusive planning, and I’m excited to integrate what I’ve learned into future programs.
On the content side, I continued co-hosting a weekly series, On Air with Russell, every Monday where we talk about hotels and destinations. You can check out the replays here. Don’t forget to subscribe for updates.
I also stayed consistent with This Week’s Live About Events, my weekly livestream covering planning insights, industry trends, and interviews. Subscribe Here.
